Pakistan win two silver in Asian Students Olympic Games 2018
Saad Asif win one silver medal in Badminton while Pakistan Football Team win another silver in 6th Asian Students Olympic Games in Sir Lanka and Thailand.
Saad Asif is a student of 6th grade in Army Public School. He has played football and badminton matches in the Asian Students Olympic Games held at Bangkok and by giving his best performance he succeeded in gathering one silver medal for Pakistan in badminton.
As a part of the Pakistan Asian Students Olympic Association, the youngest player Saad Asif felt honored to represent Pakistan internationally. Talented player says that if Pakistani players are provided with continuous opportunities on a junior level in international events and training facilities in foreign lands then they will be able to make Pakistan secure positions on victory stands.
Although in badminton juniors U-16 singles he lost to his 4 years senior opponent Indian player Ravi Kumar and did not make it to the further matched but he is optimist against his lost and said, his chance for playing and experience gained through it will help him in future.
Saad said, “During the games between Sir Lanka, India and Thailand I got to play among my age fellows and under the guidance of many professional coaches that added a lot to my experience. These countries provide such sports opportunities to the students from the start and keep them engage in different sports activities and events throughout and even provide a proper diet plan for good physical health of their players and that is why the players that compete with Pakistan seem more fit to play both, mentally and physically.”
The emerging star of Pakistan has also been trained from Foundation United Soccer Academy (FUSA) and expressed his aim of becoming a professional football player in future.
Pakistan also participated in the Football matches and defeated Thailand in the opening match and got silver medal in Football as well. The Participating Teams Under 17 Group were Pakistan, India, Malaysia and Thailand.
