Pakistani weightlifter Nooh Dastgir win Gold in 2018 IWF Junior World Championship
Pakistan’s star weightlifter Muhammad Nooh Dastgir Butt grabs gold medal in weightlifting with total 399kg weight in IWF Junior World Championship at Uzbekistan Sport Complex, Tashkent city Uzbekistan.
Overall eighteen weightlifters participated in +105kg weight event where Gujranwala’s weightlifter Muhammad Nooh Dastgir Butt grabs gold medal in weightlifting with a total score of 399 in IWF Junior World Championship at Uzbekistan Sport Complex, Tashkent city Uzbekistan.
Twenty years old Nooh lifted 171kg weight in snatch to claimed another bronze in snatch separately while he went for 228 in clean and finished the competition with a total score of 399 to claimed the podium.
Nooh defeated Iran’s Ali Davodi by a kilogram and Armenia’s Varazdat Lalayan by six kg in the clean and jerk competition, while he claimed bronze in the overall category as both Iran and Armenia were first and second respectively.
This was the first medal by a Pakistani at the world junior weightlifting championship. Nooh also improved his own record of best lift by a junior commonwealth player during the tournament by lifting total 399kg.
Pakistan’s fastest emerging weightlifter had last year won a gold medal in Commonwealth Youth Championship as well, where he lifted a total of 389kg. This year, in Commonwealth Games, he had lifted 395kg weight.
