Qaisar Khan to participate in Judo Championship for Youth Olympics qualification
South Asian Judo championship Gold Medalist Qaisar Khan will participate in the last two qualification rounds of Youth Olympics schedule to be held from July 12 to 15 and July 20 to 23 to take place in Hong Kong.
The young emerging star, world # 29 Qaisar khan will participate in -90kg weight category in the last two qualification rounds of Youth Olympics.
Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF) vice president and media director Masood Ahmad Khan said the last two qualification rounds include Cadet Asian Cup and Macau Cadet Asian Judo Cup will be held in Hong Kong from July 12 to 15 and July 20 to 23, respectively.
Qaiser, a talented 17-year-old from Khyber district of KPK showed his potential in Asian Cup Cadet 2018, Kyrgyzstan as he got third position (Bronze Medal) in 90 kg weight category while Gold medal in South Asian Judo Championship 2018.
“Qaiser will be leaving for Hong Kong on Thursday (12 July) to feature in the qualification rounds,” he said and added that Qaiser will also be training in Macau from July 16 to 19.
Masood expressed the hope that Qaiser will qualify for the Youth Olympics to take place in October in Argentine.
He was quick to add that before Youth Olympics there were six more international events, two each in Asia, Europe and Africa. “We have decided to send Qaiser to those events so that he could keep his ranking intact”.
