Squash junior’s shines on opening day of Penang Junior Open, Malaysia
All Pakistani juniors Noor Zaman, Hammad Khan,Yaseen Khattak, Ammad, Muhammad Hamza, Khushal Riaz and Zeeshan Zeb win their opening day matches in Penang Junior Open rom 26th June to 1st July at Squash Racquets Association of Malaysia Georgetown, Malaysia.
The PBA 16th Penang Junior Open 2018 is organised by SRAP (Squash Rackets Association of Penang) and Squash Racquets Association of Malaysia (SRAM). It is also sanctioned by ASF as part of the Asian Junior Super Series Event with a Platinum status awarded. The championship comprises Boys & Girls under 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 events. This event is also part of the WSF World Junior Circuit and Ranking Program with a Tier 2 status awarded by WSF.
After showing brilliant performance in Borneo Junior Squash Open in Malaysia, Pakistani juniors once again displayed outstanding performance on the opening day of the Penang Junior Open, wining all matches of the first round.
In Penang Open, being played in Malaysia, Pakistani juniors are participating in under-13, u-15, u-17 and u-19 categories.
In the under-13 category, Pakistan’s Yaseen Khattak defeated Malaysia’s Danial Danish with 3-0 (11/2, 11/3, 11/3) while in the U-15 contest, Muhammad Ammad and Muhammad Hamza got bye in first round while Noor Zaman eased past Japan’s Jared Ngooi 3-0 with scores of 11-1,11-1,11-5.
In the U-17 event, Khushal Riaz outclassed Malaysian Tang Teong 3-0 with game score 11-0,11-3, 11-3 and Hammad Khan beat Malaysian Harith Irfan 3-0, 11-1,11-0,11-3. In the U-19 event, Zeeshan Zeb got bye in first round.
Pakistani juniors a few days ago had won one gold, one silver and three bronze medals in Borneo Junior Squash Open.
