Pakistani juniors win 6 medals in Borneo Junior Squash Open, Malaysia
Noor Zaman win Gold, Hamza Khan win silver while Zeeshan, Khushal Riaz, Ammad and Hammad Khan win Bronze medals in Borneo Junior Squash Open at Sarawak Squash Center, Sarawak, Malaysia.
Pakistani six player participated in the 4TH CMS Borneo Junior Open 2018 which is an AJSS event and junior participants received ASF ranking points. The championship comprised Boys & Girls under 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 events.
In the under-15 category, Pakistani star player Noor Zaman win gold medal as he outplayed Muhammad Hamza Khan by 3-0.The top seed Noor played confidently and easily won the first game by 11-5. Peshawar player faced fair bit of resistance against second seed Hamza as both tried hard to get commanding position but the game ended in Noor Zaman favor by 11-8. Noor did not allow him to play freely and won the last game by11-7.Noor Zaman win the final match with a score line of 11-5, 11-8,11-7. Muhammad Hamza Khan secured silver medal while Muhammad Ammad win Bronze medal in under-15 event.
In Under 17 category Khushal Riaz and Hammad Khan defeated their respective opponents to win Bronze medals in the 4TH CMS Borneo Junior Open 2018 at Sarawak Squash Center, Sarawak, Malaysia.
In Under 19 category, Zeeshan Zeb win Bronze medal as he defeated second seed Ho Ka Hei of China in a close five games battle by 3-2. Chinese’s player put a shiny start as he won the first game by 12-10. In the next two games young Zeeshan faced fair bit of resistance against second seed but he won the games by 11-7.In the fourth game Ho Ka Hei bounced back to win the game by 11-6. In the last tough game both players tried hard to win the battle but the match ended in Pakistan’s favor with the final score line of 10-12,11-7,11-7,6-11,12-10.
It is pertinent to mention that beside Pakistan players from Malaysia, Australia, Belgium, Singapur,India,Hong Kong and China participated in the tournament.
All players are proceeding tomorrow for Penang Junior Open (26 June _ 01 July) at Malaysia and will compete in their respective age categories.
