Farhan powers SBP to move into semifinal of Naya Nazimabad Ramadan Cup
Fast emerging international Sahibzada Farhan played a brilliant 79-run knock to help State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to a massive 170 runs victory over Dollar East in the 5th edition of Naya Nazimabad Ramadan Cup T20 Cricket Tournament.
Sahibzada Farhan smashed a brilliant 79 to power State Bnk of Pakistan (SB) in the last four rounds of 5th Naya Nazimabad Ramadan Cup T20 Cricket Tournament with a thrilling five wicket victory over Dollar East on Wednesday night.
Opening batsman Farhan of Islamabad United produced yet another match winning knock under pressure as SBP reached the target with one ball to spare. But Dollar East paid the penalty when Muhammad Sami dropped Farhan for 26 off Sohail Akhtar.
Sahibzada Farhan clubbed nine boundaries and hoisted brace of towering sixes in his 52 ball knock after skipper Kamran Akmal was run out for 14 and international Mukhtar Ahmed went to a brilliant catch by Muhammad Sami off Fawad Khan for 11 as SBP slipped to 51-2.
All-rounder Daniyal Rajput who took two wickets in two balls when Dollar East batted, made a vital 20 off 18 balls to see his team crossing the line.
However Gohar Ali blasted the winning boundary off Sohail Akhtar when SBP needed two runs on the last two balls to seal victory.
Earlier Dollar East batting first, recovered from 86-4 to muster a competative tota of 167-6 in 20 overs due to onslaught from Jahandad Khan and Sohail Akhtar.
Jahandad banged 52 off 35 with four towering boundaries and two fours. Sohail plundered 44 after facing just 19 balls and it was spiced with three sixes and four boundaries. They added 75-run for the fifth wicket in the last six overs.
