Govt School Maraka Lahore wins National Baseball championship
Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Maraka Quarters, Lahore trashed Danish School of Bahawalpur by 10-2 to win the Bahria National Inter-school Base¬ball Championship at Aashqi Hussain Baseball Stadium, Bahria Town Lahore.
The final of the Bahria National Inter-school Baseball Championship was played between Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Maraka Quarters, Lahore and Danish School of Bahawal¬pur where Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Maraka Quarters, Lahore won the Bahria National Inter-school Base¬ball Championship after sealing a crushing 10-2 victory in the final against Danish School of Bahawalpur.
Danish School secured silver medal and Allied School Depalpur got Bronze Medal. The first semifinal was played between Maraka School and Allied School Depalpur. Marak School won the match 6 – 5. For Maraka School Hameeduallh, Aziz, Fiaz, Junaid, Noor and Shoaib score 1 run each. For Allied School Adil, Hamza, Furqan, Haris and Talha score 1 run each. Talha hit home run for his team. In 2nd semifinal Danish School outplayed DPS Model Town 2 – 0. For Danish School Abubakar and Talha score 1 run each.
The third position match was played between Allied School Depalpur and DPS Model Town. Allied School won the match by 8 – 1. For Allied School Talha, Ahsan, Haris, Ali Hamza, Ali Haider, Adil, Sunny and Asim score 1 run each. For DPS School Haris score 1 run.
In the Final Match Govt. High School Maraka defeated Danish School Bahawalpur by 10 – 2. For Maraka School Abdul Malik, Jihadullah and Shoaib score 2 run each and Aziz, Fiaz, Adil and Muhammad Shah score 1 run each. For Danish School Danish and Abubakar score 1 run each.
Brig. (Retd.) Khalil Ullah Butt Executive Director Bahria Town Lahore graced the final ceremony as chief guest and distributed medals and trophy among the winners.
