Aisam-Roger storm into the final of Barcelona Open
Aisam ul Haq and his Dutch partner Jean-Julien Rojer defeated duo of Nicolas Jarry and Guido Pella in a hard fought three sets match by 7-6(5), 3-6, 10-7 to reach the final of ATP 500 Barcelona Open tennis tournament.

Serving first on Day 7 of the open, Aisam and partner had a tough time holding their opening serve as they saved three break points. Both the pairs held their early serves at 3-2. The first break of the match came for Aisam-Rojer when they broke the hard fought 3rd serve of Jarry N. / Pella G. to lead the march at 4-2 followed by a comfortable service game for 5-2. The break advantage was lost as Aisam and partner could not hold the 9th game while they served for the first set. Jarry and Pella comfortably won the game without loosing a point and later leveled the set at 5-5. Entering the Tie-breaker, it was slightly different lead of events as the advantage was eared by Jarry and Pella as they broke Aisams' partners serve to take 2-3 lead. Aisam and partner came back strongly from one points defecit as they broke 2 consecutive serves to earn the first set point at 6-4, followed by another at 6-5 and winning it there at 7-5.
The second set started with high pace as Chile-Argentinean pair cruised to 4-1 by breaking the second serve of Aisam-Rojer. It was a clear road for Jarry-Pella from there as they only had to hold their serves to equalize the match at 1 set all. At 5-3, Aisam & Rojer came back from two set point deficit to give Jarry-Pella a hard run as they earned a break point, but it was case of not-to-be as the set cloased at 6-3.
In the Super Set, Aisam-Julian lost the very first serve but then came back strongly as they broke 3 serves at different intervals to lead the set at 7-3. Nicolas and Guido once again registered a comeback to reduce to the lead to 8-7. The Pak-Dutch pair held their serves at this point to seal the set & match and a place in the first Doubles Final of ATP 500 tournament this year.
The second doubles semifinal is scheduled for tomorrow with the final to be played on 29th April.
