Pakistan’s Two victories in Asian hockey qualifiers
Pakistan Junior Hockey team trashed Singapore by 5-0 and outplayed Cambodia with a 20-0 on the second day of the 5-A-Side Asian hockey qualifiers for the Youth Olympics in Bangkok, Thailand.
Pakistan is in pool B along Malaysia, Bangladesh, Singapore, Chinese Taipei and Cambodia where Pakistan youth team notched two big wins on the second day of the 5-A-Side Asian hockey qualifiers for the Youth Olympics in Bangkok, Thailand.
Pakistan overpowered Singapore by 5-0 in 5-A-Side tournament played on a smaller field with matches of 30-minute duration where Murtaza Yaqoob, grandson of Olympic silver medalist late Afzal Manna, notched a hat-trick scoring three goals while Chichawatni’s Hammad Anjum scored the other two goals.
In the afternoon fixture Pakistani junior gave hockey lesson to little known Cambodia with a 20-0 thrashing as Pakistan tore apart Cambodia with a heavy score line where Hammad Anjum scored 6 goals ,Waqas Ahmed (captain) netted 4 goals, Murtaza Yaqoob, Zulqarnain, Mohsin Khan and Mohibullah notched a hat-trick scoring three goals each.
Today Pakistan will compete against Malaysia and Bangladesh on the third day of 5-A-Side Asian hockey qualifiers for the Youth Olympics in Bangkok, Thailand.
