WAPDA seals National Weightlifting Championship
Wapda secured 102 points to win the CEO Gold Cup 63rd National Weightlifting Championship at the Railways Stadium Lahore.
Wapda maintained their all time supremacy in the three-day premier event by accumulating 102 points with 6 gold and 2 bronze medals to clinch the trophy. Pakistan Army finished at the runners up place having 58 points with 4 silver and 3 bronze medals followed by hosts Pakistan Railways with 52 points ended third with 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals while HEC stood forth with 51 points.
Teams from Army, Wapda, Railways, Police, Higher Education Commission and the four provinces including Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Balochistan participated in the premier activity.
Chief Executive Pakistan Railways, Muhammad Javed Anwar graced the ceremony as chief guest and gave away trophy and cash prizes to the winner. President Pakistan Railways Sports Board, Muhammad Tahir, Vice President Dr Farhan yar and Sheikh Muhammad Anwar were also present there.
