Mohammad Waseem to take Moruti for IBF flyweight title in July
Pakistani boxer Mohammad Waseem will fight against South African Pugilist Moruti Mthalane in the International Boxing Federation flyweight world title bout in Malaysia on 15th July 2018.
Mohammad Waseem will be featuring in International Boxing Federation’s (IBF) flyweight world title fight against South African Moruti Mthalane on 15th July 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 30 years old Pakistani boxer will be given a IBF flyweight title fight against the veteran Moruti who has a record of 37 bouts with only 2 defeats in his career.
“My training is underway and soon I will depart to for Las Vegas to better prepare myself under my trainer Jeff Mayweather,” Waseem said.
Quetta born Mohammad Waseem is also known as ‘Falcon Khan’ because of his quick and swift boxing style turned pro in 2015 and since then he was featured in eight bouts and won all eight fights with an flawless six knock-outs record. He said he fully deserved the IBF bout.
“I held a World Boxing Council (WBC) title in silver flyweight category and defended that successfully but could not continue that due to sponsorship issues. Now I have a promoter from England. I feel I am worthy of this bout,” he said.
35 years old Moruti has rated number three. Once he won the IBF belt but the lost the title in 2014. He continued his struggle with his own way to become the top rated once again by winning IBF last year.
“I am so excited to take on such an experienced boxer. I am sure I am to going to win against him,” Waseem added.
