PHF announces team for Youth Olympics in Thailand

Pakistan Hockey Federation announced a nine member squad for the upcoming Youth Olympics scheduled to be held from 25th-29th April held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The selection committee of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) announced a nine-member team along with four standbys for the Asian hockey qualifiers for Youth Olympics to be held in Bangkok, Thailand. The top two teams from the 11 sides competing at these qualifiers will represent Asia at the Youth Olympics, scheduled in Buenos Aires, Argentina from October 6-18, 2018. The hockey event of the Youth Olympics is played in 5-a-side format. 

Pakistan is in pool B along Malaysia, Bangladesh, Singapore, Chinese Taipei and Cambodia. In the Youth Olympic Games Hockey Competition players ranging from ages between 15 and 18 years old will showcase their talent in the 5-day long event. 

The team was announced after holding a 15-day training camp in Karachi under the supervision of former Pakistan captain Moha­m­mad Usman. The team will leave for Bangkok on April 20.
