Arshad Nadeem made National Record as he qualifies for Men's Javelin Throw Final in Commonwealth games

The Pakistani qualified for the main round of Javelin throw from group B with a distance of 80.45m in the Men's Javelin Throw Qualifying Round in Gold Coast.

Pakistani thrower Arshad Nadeem secured the second spot in Group B Qualification with a National Record as he managed to throw at a distance of 80.45m on his second attempt. Arshad from Khanewal failed to make a clean throw in the first attempt in the partly cloudy conditions at Carrara Stadium, but managed to throw the javelin to a Personal Best (PB) distance of 80.45 meters in his second attempt to secure second position in Group B, and earn qualification for the Final. Arshad threw 0.77m short to Australian Hamish PEACOCK who earned the first spot with the distance of 81.22m in the qualifying round from Group B. 

Total 12 throwers have qualified for the final round of Men's Javelin Throw event. Tomorrow Arshad Nadeem will face Hamish Peacock of Austria for gold on 9:35 AM (PST) at Carrara Stadium, Gold coast Australia.
