Pakistan seals 7th place in Commonwealth Games Hockey
Pakistan’s Hockey team outclassed Canada by 3-1 in the 7th/8th position match at the hockey competition of XXI Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast, Australia.
On the ninth day of Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, a thrilling fixture was played between Pakistan and Canada where both the teams showed marvelous performance but Pakistan outplayed Canada by3-1 to seals the 7th place in the hockey competition of XXI Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast, Australia.
In the 12th minute Canada scored the opening goal through James Kirkpatrick and take the 1-0 lead while the second quarter saw futile as no goal was scored and it reminded 1-0 till the half time.
In the twisting and high voltage third quarter, Pakistan came back strongly against Canada as in the 34th minute of the third quarter Pakistan equalized the score through Muhammad Arslan Qadir while in 40th minute Mubashar Ali, who ended as Pakistan’s top scorer in the competition with four goals put his team ahead off a penalty corner and Pakistan took 2-1 lead.
In the last quarter, Muhammad Irfan Junior completed the tally with his third beautiful field goal of the event in the 57th minute of the fourth quarter and Pakistan won against Canada to secure the 7th spot in hockey competition of XXI Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast, Australia.
