Aisam-Cerretani breezes into the quarterfinal of ATP Grand Prix tennis tournament
Aisam ul Haq and his American partner Jamie Cerretani defeated duo of Robin Haase and Matwe Middelkoop to get into the quarterfinal of ongoing Grand Prix Hassan II played at Marrakech, Morocco.
Unseeded Pak-US pair Aisam ul Haq and Jamie Cerretani outplayed the tournaments No.4 seed pair of Netherlands Robin Haase and Matwe Middelkoop by 6-3, 3-6, 10-3.
Aisam-Cerretani won the first set easily by 6-3 but opponents strikes back to won the second set by 6-3. In the third set, Aisam with his US partner, played exceptionally well to win the third and final set by 10-3. This was Aisam’s first match after Davis Cup tie against Uzbekistan in Islamabad and he got back his form after winning the first round of the Grand Prix Hassan II tennis tournament.
PaK-US duo will face Spaniard David Marrero and Polish Marcin Matkowski in the quarterfinal of the tournament.
David ranked 47 in the doubles while Matkowski stands on 46 in the doubles rankings. Pakistani ace Aisam Ul Haq is on 32 while his American partner stands on no. 74 in the doubles rankings.
