Muhammad Rameez shines in Gold Coast Table Tennis
Pakistan’s Table Tennis star Muhammad Rameez thrashed Brian Ndunda Mutua of Kenya by 4-0 in Men’s Singles Table Tennis in the XXI Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, Australia.
In Men's Singles Group 9-Game 3, Muhammad Rameez defeated his opponent Brian Ndunda Mutua of Kenya in straight games. Rameez had a shaky start to the match as he lost the four opening points in the first game but came back strongly by taking the next 6 consecutive points to take charge and end the game in his favor at 11-6. The Pakistani also won the second game with the same score of 11-6. Rameez was trailing in the 3rd game at 4-8 as he lost some quick points but bounced back from the 4 points deficit by taking 7 consecutive points to win the game at 11-8. The growing confidence helped the Pakistani secure him the match in the 4th game with a comfortable win at 11-7.
With this win Muhammad Rameez qualifies for the Men’s Singles round of 64 now Muhammad Rameez will team up with Fatima khan to face Ho Wan Kau Elodie & Taucoory Rhikesh in Mixed Doubles Round of 64 on Wednesday at 5:05 PM (PST). Muhammad Rameez along with Khawaja Fahad will also face Bode Abiodun & Olajide Omotayo from Nigera in Men’s Double Round of 32 at 8:00 PM.
