Vigilant start for Tayyab Aslam, Farhan Zaman in Commonwealth Games
Pakistani Squash players Farhan Zaman and Tayyab Aslam defeated their opponents in opening round matches of Men's Singles event in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games at Oxenford Squash Studios, Australia.
In Men's Singles Round of 64, Pakistani squash star Tayyab Aslam defeated Neville Sorrentino of British Virgin Islands by 3-0. Tayyab played well in all three games as he displayed superb back and fore hand shots to leave opponent helpless to win the opening day fixture with a score line of 11-3, 11-4, 11-4 in just 12 minutes.
Farhan Zaman showed outstanding performance as he defeated Joe Chapman of British Virgin Islands by 3-1, Farhan although lost one game bit he registered a strong comeback and did not allowed his opponent to play freely to win the encounter and get through to next round with a score of 11-6, 9-11, 11-4,11-6 in 27 minutes struggle.
