Yong guns Babar, Talat sizzle as Pakistan seal t20 series
Babar Azam and Hussain Tallat helps Pakistan to win the second t20 against Windies at the National Cricket Stadium Karachi to take decisive 2-0 lead.
Sarfraz Ahmed after winning the toss decided to bat first as Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman came to bat but Fakhar was sent back too early on just 11 on the board. Young gun, Hussain Talat came to join Babar as both the batsmen then played flawless and fearless cricket and completed their blistering half-centuries. Hussain Talat was the next to depart on 63 runs as both the batsmen contributed 119 runs for the second wicket partnership.
Asif Ali joined Babar but he too gone in the 17th over on just 14 runs as veteran Shoaib Malik came out to bat. Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik leaked 38 runs in last 3 overs to set up highest total of Pakistan 205 runs in T20 international matches. Although Babar Azam remains unlucky as he missed his maiden t20 century by just 3 runs. He remained not out on 97 runs in 58 balls with the help of 13 boundaries and a six.
Azam 97 not out, Husain Talat 63 Shoaib Malik unbeaten on 17 were top runs getters for Pakistan. Rayad Emrit, Kesrick Williams and Odean Smith got 1 wicket each for West Indies.
In reply, West Indies had the same start as they lost their first wicket on 11 runs but then Chadwick Walton regained his form and played a cameo of 40 runs in just 29 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Shadab Khan removed Walton and then Ramdin and skipper Jason Mohammad resisted a little before falling prey of Pakistani bowlers.
Keemo Paul bagged 17 runs in just 10 balls from down the order and rest of the West Indian lineup was removed quickly by Pakistani bowlers as Windies bowled out on just 123 runs in 19.2 overs and Pakistan won the match by 82 runs.
Chadwick Walton 40, Denesh Ramdin 21 and Keemo Paul 17 were the top runs scorers for West Indies. Mohammad Amir to 3 while Shadab Khan, Hussain Talat got 2 wickets each and Mohammad Nawaz and Hasan Ali bagged 1 wicket each for Pakistan. Babar Azam for his blazing 97 runs was declared Man of the match.
Third and last t20 match to be played tonight at National Cricket Stadium, Karachi.
