Pakistan crushes Windies to record second biggest win in T20Is
Pakistan easily routed West Indies in the first of three match t20 series played at National Cricket Stadium Karachi by a record 143 runs to take 1-0 lead in the series.
West Indian captain Jason Mohammed invited Pakistan to bat first after winning the toss in first t20. Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman came to open for Pakistan as both the batsmen provided a solid start of 46 runs for the first wicket in 5 overs. Babar was sent back on 17 but adding 19 more runs in total, Fakhar Zaman also joined Babar in dressing room. That time debutant Hussain Talat and skipper Sarfraz Ahmed added 75 more runs for third wicket. Hussain was run out on 41 runs.
Pakistan at the end of allotted 20 overs, scored a massive 203 runs that includes 47 runs partnership between Shoaib Malik and Faheem Ashraf in just 17 balls. Hussain Talat with 41 remained top scorer while Fakhar Zaman scored 39, Sarfraz Ahmed 38. Shoaib Malik added unbeaten 37 runs. Keemo Paul, Rayad Emrit and Rovman Powell took 1 wicket each for West Indies.
West Indian team in the run chase was hurted badly by Pakistani bowlers as they were bowled out on just 60 runs, the lowest total of their t20 history. Four of their batsmen including skipper was removed on not while seven of them were unable to turn their score into double figures.
Marlon Samuels 18, Rayad Emrit 11 and Keemo Paul unbeaten on 10 were top runs getters Windies. Mohammad Aamir, Mohammad Nawaz and Shoaib Malik picked up 2 wickets each while Hussain Talat and Hasan Ali got 1 wicket each. Hussain Talat was given man of the match award and he becomes the third Pakistani to receive man of the match on debut after Shahid Afridi and Shadab Khan.
Two Pakistani and West Indian batsmen played their inaugural t20 match. Hussain Talat and Asif Ali were debutants for Pakistan while Keemo Paul Veerasammy Permaul played their first match for Windies.
