Aqeel Khan wins Sheheryar Malik National Tennis Championship
Pakistan top seed Aqeel Khan outshines Abid Khan by 6-3, 6-4 to win the Sheheryar Malik National Grass Court Tennis Championship 2018 at Bagh-e-Jinnah Tennis Courts, Lahore.
Pakistan’s tennis ace Aqeel Khan outplayed Abid Khan in straight set by 6-3, 6-4 in a very well contested final, Aqeel used his experience to down the opponent and won Sheheryar Malik National Grass Court Tennis Championship 2018 at Bagh-e-Jinnah Tennis Courts.
In Men’s Doubles Aqeel Khan and Shahzad Khan defeated Muhammad Abid and Usman Rafique by 6-3, 6-3 and won the title. Match played in a great manner. In Under 18 Karachi boy Nouman Aftab outclassed Peshawar’s player Saqib Umer by 6-1, 6-0 and won the Under 18 National title.
In Mens Senior 40 Plus final Sid Siddique and Fayyaz khan defeated Talha Waheed and Maj (R) Adnan when the score 3-0 in Talha and Adnan Favor so they won the final. In mens 50 Plus Ex Davis Cupper and Top Player Rashid Malik along with his partner Israr Gul beat Rai Zafar and Dr Naveed Rizvi by 6-3, 6-3 and won the title.
Men’s Senior 60 plus Asad Niaz and Khurram Kawaja beat Iftikhar Ahmed Rao and Rai Zarar by 6-4, 6-7, 10-5 in a very well contested final at this age. In Under 14 Sami Zeb of Peshwar beat his own city player Hamid Israr by 6-1, 6-2 and won the title.
In Under 12 final Hamid Israr beat Bilal Asim of Lahore by 8-6 and won the title. In Under 10 Hamaza beat Abubaker Talha by 8-6 and won the title. In the Ladies single final, Sarah Mehboob beat Sara Mansoor 6-1, 7-1 and won the title.
President of Pakistan Tennis Federation, Saleem Saifullah graced the final as chief guest and distributed the trophies and shields among the winners. While Guest of honor was Marek Minkiewicz, CEO Metro Cash and Carry Pakistan. At this moment Punjab Lawn Tennis Association Chairmen Rao Iftikhar, Secretory and Tournament Director Rashid Malik, Rai Zafar, Maj(R) Adnan, Sid Siddique, Faheem Siddique, Muhammad Siddique, Arif Qureshi and lot of tennis players also witness the last exciting day of this 7 days mega event. Pakistan Tennis Federation Declared Punjab Lawn tennis Association his best unit, Saleem Saifullah give the number one unit trophy to Rao Iftikhar and Rashid Malik.
