Nishtar Club, Askari Club victorious in Pakistan Day basketball tournament
Nishtar survives the scare defeat as they thrashed Neighbourhood Club in a thriller while Askari Club defeated One Unit Club in the ongoing Pakistan Day basketball tournament at the KBBC’s floodlit court Arambagh, Karachi.
Nishtar Club in a thrilling battle outplayed Neighbourhood Club 67-61 and strengthened their position in the Pakistan day basketball tournament. Both the teams were furious and up to the mark as they finished an equal but intense first quarter with 11-all but Nishtar College then came up on high in the next 3 quarters. Nishtar Club won the second quarter by 21-17 to lead the halftime with 32-28.
Nishtar College once again came out victorious in the third and fourth quarters with slightly upper hand as they won third quarter by 17-16 and fourth by 18-17 respectively.
Talha Amjad scored 26 points for Nishtar Club while Asad scored 20 and Shabbar added 11. Efforts of Hammad 19, Abdullah 18 and Hamza 15 for Neighbourhood Club went in vain as they lost by a little difference of 6 points.
Second match was played between Askari Club and One Unit Club which Askari Club won quite easily by 68-52. Askari Club was leading the half time by 33-27 points.
Samie was top scorer for Askari Club with 19 points followed by Shahmir and Zain 11 each.
Tallal played outstandingly as he scored 22 from One Unit Club while Kashif and Tashfeen equally scored 20 points each but could not help their team to win the match.
