Ahmed Baig leading day one of National Golf Championship

Lahore Gymkhana’s Ahmed Baig takes hefty lead on the opening day of 72 holes 57th National Amateur Ranking Golf Championship at PAF Golf Course, Peshawar.

Ahmed Baig was leading the first day of championship with the score of 72 par over 18 holes. Ahmed was in a great nick as he recently represented Pakistan in Qataar Masters carded four under 32 at front nine with birdies at 1, 3, 6, 8, 9 and four over par 40 at back nine with birdies at 12 and 13 besides making double bogeys at 7 par-5 and hole no. 16 at par 4.

Another top golfer Ashaq Hussain carded one over par 73 with 37, one over at front nine and par 36 at back nine with two birdies and two bogeys.

Malik Pervez jointly shared the second spot with Ashaq Husasin as he scored 36 at front nine and one over par 37 at back nine with two birdies and as many bogeys.

Pakistan team member and international golfer Taimur Khan landed on the third spot with two over 74, par 36 at front nine and two over par 38 at back nine with three birdies and missed at stroke at 5, 14, 17 and 18 holes.

Ghazanfar Mehmood stood beside Taimur with his gross score 74, two over par. He scored over par 39 at front nine and 35, one under at back nine with three birdies and as many miss-strokes.

Veteran Robin Bagh scored 3 over par 75 with 37 at front nine and 38 at back nine. He added 1 birdie to his name with double bogey at hole no 16 par 3 besides missed a single stroke at 4, 5, 18 and 16.

Akbar Qayyum Bukhari, Muhammad Rehman, Muhammad Shareef carded 76 each while Salman scored 77.
