PPL Balochistan Cup moves into Final stage
DFA Chaman after winning the fourth quarterfinal dramatically completed the last four line-up of ongoing Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) Balochistan Football Cup 2018.
Quetta, Dakki and DFA Gwadar have already qualifies for the 38 teams tournament PPL Balochistan Football Cup 2018 which started last month. District Football Association (DFA) Chaman was the last to qualify for the semifinals of the event.
Earlier it was decided that match between DFA Panjgoor and DFA Chaman would be replayed. In the rematch between both the teams DFA Chaman overpowered Panjgoor by 2-1 to qualify for the semifinal of the event.
Large number of crowed witnessed the match at Mali Bagh Football Stadium, Quetta Haseeb scored the lone goal for Panjgoor and took lead by 1-0 which was soon later leveled by Hanif from DFA Chaman and then doubled by Zabiullah to win the match by 2-1.
Zahid Hameed and Nasarullah Khan were the chief guest on the occasion and both unanimously awarded the Man of the match to Haseeb of DFA Panjoor.
Semi-finals will now take place on March 28. Quetta to play against Dukki in the first semifinal while DFA Gwadar to face DFA Chaman in the second semifinal of the tournament.
DFA Quetta striker Istaqlal Khan believes the semi-finals will be interesting as they have good chances to qualify for the final. The event will also be aired on television this time and Istaqlal believes that it is a great chance for the players to garner fans outside of Balochistan.
“We are popular among the local spectators, people come to watch our matches, but I feel the rest of the country should also know how talented footballers are in Balochistan. Airing these events on television will only help our football,” said Istaqlal.
