Pakistan beats Kuwait, extends winning streak in Junior Davis Cup
Pakistan defeated Kuwait by 3-0 to extend its winning streak in ongoing Junior Davis Cup at Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Earlier, Pakistan outpaced Malaysia and Bhutan by 3-0 respectively. From Pakistan Huzaifa Abdul Rehman played against Ali shatti while Muhammad Shoaib faced Bader Antar and in doubles match duo of Huzaifa Abdul Rehman/Ahmed Kamil challenged Ali Shatti/ Muhammad Alqattan.
In the first match, Huzaifa Abdul Rehman ousted Ali Shatti in straight sets by 6-0, 6-0. Huzaif never allowed the opponent to take a single point in the match.
Muhammad Shoaib outlasted Bader Antar in a hard fought 3 set match by 3-6, 6-3, 6-1. Shoaib was down and out in the first set but he really came back strongly in the second and third set and defeated his opponent to win the match and took 2-0 lead.
In the doubles match Huzaifa Abdul Rehman/ Ahmed Kamil extended the match to its limits against Ali Shatti/ Muhammad Alqattan and defeated Kuwati opponents by 6-4, 4-6, 10-6. After winning the first set, Pakistani duo lost the momentum and got defeated but in the final set Huzaif/Ahmed Kamil won the match to make it 3-0 in favor of Pakistan.
Pakistan to play Bangladesh in the quarterfinals today.
