FIFA lifts ban on Pakistan Football Federation
FIFA lifted the suspension on Pakistan Football Federation after a period of six months as it was imposed a ban for governmental interference.
Football’s world body FIFA has reinstated all the PFF memberships with immediate effect after the decision of Lahore High Court (LHC) in which it court upheld PFF president Faisal Saleh Hayat’s election and the accounts were also handed over to him.
Earlier, the ban was enforced after the LHC appointed an administrator to run the PFF affairs following fallout in the PFF elections back in June 2015. However, the court has now validated the 2015 PFF elections and removed its appointed administrator from the PFF offices and informed FIFA that the order’s implemented. In result, FIFA in a statement has said that it lifted the suspension of PFF with immediate effect.
It also allowed the PFF’s representative and club teams to take part in international competitions.
The PFF’s members and officials may also get benefits from the development programs, courses and training from FIFA and Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Finally, the FIFA member associations may again enter into sporting contact with the PFF and/or its teams.”
