Bannu seals KP U-23 Bannu Region Inter-District Games trophy

Bannu secure eight gold, five silver and registered 115 points in KP U-23 Bannu Region Inter-District Female Games at Bannu Sports Complex.

Bannu claimed the trophy by securing eight golds, five silver and registered 115 points by taking first position followed by Lakki Marwat with five gold, eight silver medals by recording 106 points in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bannu Region Under-23 Inter-District Female Games played at Bannu Sports Complex.  

Bannu claimed gold medal in cricket, netball, basketball, baseball, badminton, table tennis, squash and tug-of-war while winning silver medal in hockey, athletic, volleyball, judo and handball.

Lakki Marwat got second position with winning gold medal in hockey, athletics, volleyball, judo and handball and got silver medal in cricket, netball, basketball, baseball, badminton, table tennis, squash, and tug-of-war.

In athletic Maryum of Lakki Marwat claimed gold medal in 100m and 400m gold, and got silver medal in 200m and was declared the “Best Athlete” of the Games as Lakki Marwt claimed athletic trophy. In 100m Maryum won gold medal, followed by Amana Khan of Bannu and Mushkan got bronze medal. In 200m Anjuman of Lakki Marwat got gold medal, Maryum won silver medal while and Laila was disqualified.
In 400m Maryum of Lakki Marwat won gold medal, Amana won silver medal, Muskan of Bannu claimed bronze medal, in the shot put Naila Javed won gold medal, Saeeda of Bannu won silver medal and Aysha of Bannu got bronze medal.

In the Javelin throw Muzalifa of Lakki Marwat won gold medal, Bannu’s Saeeda got silver while Naila Javed of Lakki Marwat got bronze medal. In the Long Jump Amana Khan of Bannu got gold medal, Anila of Bannu got silver medal and Iqra Bibi of Bannu got bronze medal.

In Judo Lakki Marwat made a clean sweep by winning eight gold medals in all eight categories by securing 40 points, followed by Bannu with 24 points after winning eight silver medals and got runners-up trophy.

In the -36 weight category Shah Rukh of Lakkani Mawat won gold medal and Gozil of Bannu College won silver medal, in -40kg Kainat of Lakki Marwat won gold medal and Urooj won silver medal, Aqsa won gold medal in -44 Aqsa won gold medal and Afsheen of Bannu won silver medal, in -48kg Maliaka of Lakki Marwat won gold medal while Sajal of Bannu won silver mdal, -52kg Sana won gold medal, Shaista of Bannu won silver medal, in -57kg weight Saeeda won gold medal, Rabia of Bannu won silver medal, -63kg weight Nahid won gold medal, Faiza of Bannu won silver medal, in open weight category Nahid of Lakki Marwat claimed gold medal and Faiza won silver medal.

In the hockey event Lakki Marwat defeated Bannu after a thrilling match decided on penalty shootout. Both the teams were locked 2-2 when Irum and Sidra scored for Bannu while Muskan and Aysha scored one goal each for Lakki Marwat. To decide the fate of the match both were awarded five each penalty shootout on which Lakki Marwat won the battle.

In the Handball Lakki Marwat defeated Bannu by 7-6. Both the teams were locked in the first, second and third session before Lakki Marwat got the lead and marched into the victory. In the Cricket event Lakki Marwat won the toss and elected to bat first. Lakki Marwat scored 112 runs with Khalida and Lubna scored 34 and 41 runs respectively. Aqsa made 29 runs with four boundaries was the other high runs contributor. For Lakki Marwat Irum, Muzlifa and Iqra got three wickets each.

In reply, Bannu chased the target for the loss of two wickets with Irsa, Nazish hammered a cracking 48 and 44 runs respectively. Javeria scored 23 runs. In the Volleyball match Lakki Marwat defeated Bannu by 25-23, 23-25, 25-21 and 25-22. Both Lakki Marwat and Bannu played well and gave each other a tough fight.

At the end, Director Sports Female Games Miss Rashida Ghaznavi gave away trophies and cash prizes. DSO Bannu Amir Zahid Shah, DSO Lakki Shafqat ULlah, Organizing Secretary Hamid Ali, Adm Officer Syed Jaffar Shah were also present. The winner awarded Rs. 20,000 and runners-up got Rs. 15000.
