Aisam-Ul-Haq, Fabio Fognini shines in Indian Wells Masters
Pakistani tennis ace Aisam-Ul-Haq with his Italian partner Fabio Fognini moved into the second round of ongoing BNP PARIBAS Open at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California.
In the first round of the event, PAK- ITA pair overpowered Crotian-Austrian pair of Nikola Mektic and Alexander Peya by 2-6, 6-3 and 10-5 in 1 hour 8 minute. Aisam- Fabio qualified for second round of BNP PARIBAS Open.
PAK- ITA pair faced hard resistance in the first round against CRO- AUT pair where Nikola Mektic and Alexander Peya played marvelously and the tough and thrilling competition ended in Nikola - Alexander favors as they won the first set by 6-2.
After losing the first set Aisam- Fabio bounce back in the second set and could not allow opponents to play freely and easily won the second and third sets successfully to win the match by 6-3, 10-5.
Aisam is currently world no.30 doubles ranking player while his partner Fabio Fognini stands on no.101 in men’s doubles ranking.
Aisam- Fabio will now face third seed AUT- CRO pair of Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic in the second round of the tournament. Match will start at 12:30PM (PST) tomorrow.
