Abid to clash Muzammil in JCSC Open Tennis Final
Top seed Mohammad Abid to face Muzamil Murtaza in the men’s singles final of first chairman Joints Chiefs of Staff Committee Open Tennis Championship at PTF Complex today.
Top seed Mohammad Abid ousted fourth seed resilient Heera Ashiq in a hard fought 3 set match by 4-6, 6-4, 7-5. Heera won the first set easily against Abid and indicated him for a hard battle but Abid came back strongly in the second set to win it by identical score of 6-4. In the third set, both the players played splendidly but Heera gave it everything to win the match but veteran Abid downs Heera in the third set by 7-5 to win the match.
Second semifinal was played between Muzammil Murtaza and Yousaf Khalili and Muzammal Murtaza overpowered Yousaf in straight sets by 6-2, 6-1. Muzamammil faced no real fight from his opponent and easily passed the challenge to qualify for the final against Abid.
In the women’s singles match, Mahin Aftan humbles second seed Sarah Mehboob in another exiting three set match by 6-3, 3-6 and 7-6(4). Mahin starched the match to its limits and stunned the no.2 seed to qualify for the semifinals.
