Unifoam register big victory in Unifoam t20 Cricket League
Four matches were decided in the ongoing Unifoam Twenty20 Cricket Championship League organized in cooperation with Zephyr Textile and Abacus at different grounds of Lahore.
First match was played between Unifoam Industry and Feroz sons and Unifoam routed opponents by 123 runs. Batting first Unifoam set a target of 187 runs as Mohammad Waheed remained top scorer with 38 runs while Imtiaz Ahmed scored 30 and Umar Tehzeb added 29 runs. Waqas picked up 3 wickets while Mubashir Mirza got 2 for Ferozsons.
In reply, Unifoam bowlers wrapped up the innings of Ferozsons hastily on just 60 runs. Mohammad Hanif took 4 wickets while Ali Abbas got 3 and Imran Masih got 2 for Unifoam. Mohammad Hanif for his all-round performance was given man of the match award.
Pepsi Cola in a thrilling match overpowered Zephyr Textiles by 5 runs. Pepsi decided to bat first and scored 134 runs for 9 wickets. Hassan Raza 44 was top scorer while Atta Muhammad contributed 24 runs. Faraz, Shahzad and Mubashir took 2 wickets each for Zephyr Textile.
In reply, Zephyr Textile gave up on 129 runs just 5 short of required runs. Abdul Jabbar contributed 32 runs but his effort went in vain as he could not get help from the other end and lost the match by 5 wickets. Sheroz and Ata Muhammad grabbed 3 wickets each for Pepsi. Atta Muhammad was given man of the match award for his all-round performance.
Descon in the third match defeated Abacus by 8 runs. Descon while batting first posted 169 runs courtesy Mubashar Iqbal’s 68 runs. Mujahid Ali 29, Imran Masih 26 and Usman Waheed 22 were other main scorers.
Abacus in reply fell 8 runs short of required runs. Muhammad Faisal scored 37 runs while Sheron John 30 and Sohail Sikandar 22 were top scorers. Mubashar Iqbal of Descon was handed over man of the match award.
In the last encounter of the day, Al-Bario Engineering thrashed Burger Paints by 7 wickets. Burger scored 128 runs for 2 wickets while batting first. Shahid remained the top scorer with 37 runs. Hafiz Faisal bagged 2 wickets.
In reply, Al-Bario achieved the target for the loss of 3 wickets. Abdul Rehman played important knock of 45 runs and was declared man of the match.
