Karachi to host Sindh games from March 28

17th edition of Sindh games to start from Match 28 and concluding ceremony to be held at Karachi’s PSB National Coaching Center on March 31.

Around 3000 athletes from six divisions of province including Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Sukkur, Benazirabad and host Karachi will take part in four day event.

Secretary Sports and youth affairs Dr. Niaz Abbasi briefed the journalists about the games at the Sindh Boy Scouts Auditorium. He said Men will contest in thirty disciplines while women will take part in seventeen different events.

Dr. Niaz told the media men that a sum of 4.5 billion have been estimated for the Sindh games. He added that “We have around Rs. 3 million in our hand now and we have submitted an application to the finance department for the remaining amount”.

He assured for the foolproof security arrangements during the event and for this sports board has constituted committees and sun committees to assure the smooth conduct of the games.

About the athletes, he said that 242 male and 142 female athletes will participate from each division and 15 different venues have located for the holding competitions. He further added that a contingent of Pakistani Air Force will perform a sky diving show at the concluding ceremony scheduled to be held on 31st March.

Chief Engineer Aslam Mahar, Chairman Media Committee Asif Azeem and Director Sports Sindh, Shahzad Pervez were also present on the occasion.
