Tanvir, Munir, Manna wins in Nine-a-side Shezan Hockey Cup
Tanvir Dar-IX, Munir Dar-IX, Manna-IX defeated their opponent teams on the first day of the Nine-a-side Shezan Hockey Gold Cup at the National Hockey Stadium.
Three matches were decided on the first day where all the competing six teams named after Pakistan’s former hockey greats.
The first one sided encounter was played between Tanvir Dar-IX and Brigadier M.H.Atif-IX where Tanvir Dar-XI showed a marvellous performance and defeated M.H.Atif-IX by 2-0. In the 25th minute of the second half Awais-ur-Rehman scored a beautiful goal for Tanvir Dar-IX while in the last minute of the second half Babar Bashir scored another goal and defeated M.H.Atif-IX by 2-0.
The second match was played between Munir Dar-IX and Afzal Manna-IX where Asad struck the goal on penalty-corner in the 32nd minute of the second half and outclassed Afzal Manna-IX by 1-0.
The third encounter was seen between Afzal Manna-IX and Tanvir Dar-IX where Afzal Manna-XI played well as Zeeshan Bukhari in the 30th minute of second half scored a goal for Afzal Manna-XI and won the match by 1-0. Tanvir Dar-IX failed to maintain their winning streak after defeated M.H Atif-XI in the opener.
