Lahore Lions victories in Hockey Super league
Lahore Lions outplayed Islamabad Shaheen by 2-1 while Karachi Dolphins held a draw against Quetta Panthers at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore.
On the third day of women hockey super league two well contested matches were played at the National hockey stadium Lahore.
In the passionate encounter Lahore Lions cruises Islamabad Shaheen in a tough battle. In the first half Islamabad Shaheen scored a beautiful goal and took the lead through Sidra Kanwal in fifth minute but in the twelve minute Lahore’s international player Hamra Latif leveled it through plenty corner. In the second half both the teams tries hard to convert a goal but Lahore’s Sharika Sarwar struck the winning goal in the 44th minute and defeated Islamabad Shaheen by 2-1.
In another thrilling encounter between Karachi Dolphins and Quetta Panthers, both the teams tried their best to convert goal but match ended on a draw. In the 5th minute of the first half captain of Quetta Panthers Kalsoom Shahzadi utilized a penalty corner and took the lead but the lead did not last long as Karachi’s vice-captain Tehmina equalized through open play. In the 37th minute Quetta got the lead once again through penalty corner converted by Iqra Hanif but within six minutes, it was leveled by sadaf Farhan from Karachi Dolphins and match ended on a 2-2 draw.
