Newage in Master Paints Polo Cup Final
Newage/Guard Group through to the main final while Diamond paints seals the berth of subsidiary final of Master Paints Polo Cup.
Newage/Guard Group defeated Barry’s to qualify for the main final of the Master Paints Polo Cup 2018. Taimur Ali Malik, Alman Jalil Azam, Raja Arslan Najeeb and Salvador Ulloa banged in a brace each while Barry’s came in the game with half goal handicap advantage while Silvestre Garrose hammered a hat-trick and Jamil Barry converted one but their efforts proved futile in the end. Newage/Guard Group proved too hot for the Barry’s and thrashed them by 8-4½. Saqib Khan Khakwani and Miguel Luis Duggan officiated the match as field umpires.
The first match of the third day was played between Diamond Paints and Army white wherein both the teams fought well to earn the lead but Diamond Paints marked the victory over Army Whites by 4½-3. Macos Araya turned up as the hero of the match from Diamond Paints as he thwarted two tremendous goals for his side while Mir Huzaifa and Mir Shoaib Ahmed contributed one goal apiece while Diamond Paints started the match with a half goal handicap advantage. From Army Whites, Brig Zulfiqar, Ignasio Negri and Major Omer Minhas struck one goal apiece. Hissam Ali Hyder and Mumtaz Abbas Niazi supervised the match as field umpires. Diamond Paints defeated Army Whites to book berth in the subsidiary final here on at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground.
