Resiliant Abbas, Amna win junior squash championship titles
Abbas Zeb and Amna Fayyaz lifts under-19 titles of boys and girls categories in seventh Rehana Nazar National Junior Squash Championship at Rashidabad, Tando Allahyar.
Seventh seeded player Abbas Zeb outclassed top seeded M. Uzair Rasheed 4-1 and ended the tournament on high note as he lifts the tournaments title. His score against Uzair was 13-15, 11-9, 11-1, 11-1. After losing the first set, Abbas never looked back and won the next three sets dominantly to win the title. He also sent packing tournaments second seed Zeeshan in the semifinal.
In girls under-19 category, fourth seed Amna Fayyaz stuns top seed Komal Khan in straight sets by 11-8, 11-9, 11-4 and claimed the title. She outplayed no.4 seed second seed Noorul Huda in the semifinal of the tournament.
Harris Qasim won the boys under-17 title while Zaynab Khan earns the girls under-15 title by shocking batter ranked players in the finals.
Maj Gen Mohammad Ali, GOC 18 Div, who graced the finals, gave away the prizes to the winners and runner-ups. Retired Air Cdre Shabbir Ahmed and Iqbal Samad were also present on the occasion along with others.
