Ali Bukhari, Asim in Malaysian Tour-1 quarterfinals
Ali Mujtaba Bukhari and Asim shocks opponents in the pre-quarterfinals and moved to last 16 of the Malaysian Tour 1 squash tournament at Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia.
Ali Mujhtaba Bukhari after winning the qualifying round of the tournament get into the main round while Asim is No.7 seed player of the tournament.
Ali Bukhari starched the no.4 seed Malaysian Valentino Bong to the limits and shocks him in the first round by 3-2. Ali took 42 minutes to down his Malaysian opponent by 7-11, 11-4, 2-11, 11-3, 11-7. Bukhari lost the first game 11-7 but he bounced back to win the second game by 11-4 but got beaten in the third game once again by 11-2. Ali kept his cool and not only won the next two games by 11-3, 11-7 but also advances to the quarterfinal stage of the tournament. Bukhari will now face qualifier Guhan Senthilkumar from India in the quarterfinal.
In another match, tournament’s 7th seed Pakistani player Asim defeated Malaysian in three straight games by 11-7, 11-5, 11-3. Asim will face top seed Addeen Idrakie from Malaysia in the round of 16. Pakistan’s Zahir Shah lost his match against second seeded French player Geoffrey Demont by 11-6, 9-11, 11-7, 11-6 in the first round.
