Coke to showcase FIFA WC trophy in Pakistan
Though Pakistan is not participating in football world cup but football fans have at-least something to cheer as FIFA brings the world cup glittering trophy in Pakistan on February 3.
FIFA world cup trophy to arrive in Pakistan for a day tour on 3rd February courtesy the official sponsors Coca Cola. Trophy tour includes 50 countries of six continents and for the very first time it arrives in Pakistan. After arriving in Lahore, the trophy will be taken to two or three different venues of the city.
General Manager Coca cola for Pakistan and Afghanistan, Rizwan U Khan shared the details with the media and Pakistan’s men and women football team captains Kaleemullah and Hajra Khan were also preset on the occasion.
Pakistan Football federation has no role in trophy tour to Pakistan as all the incentives were taken by FIFA and the official sponsors. FIFA world cup football is scheduled to be held in Russia and a total of 32 teams will be contesting for the top honor.
The FIFA WC trophy started its journey from Russia by the official sponsors Coca Cola in September 2017 and will approximately travel 126,000 km in the time period of 9 months before returning to Russia.
A delegation of 16 Pakistanis, including media man, Coca Cola and the national football team officials will join the tour in Chiang Mai, Thailand to receive the Trophy and bring it to Lahore. The trophy will remain in Pakistan for one day. Meanwhile, a Pakistani fan will also get the chance to participate in the coin toss in the match between Brazil and Costa Rica on the group stages.
