Pakistan U-19 pace out New Zealand in first Youth ODI
Pakistan juniors outsmarted hosts New Zealand U-19 by 5 wickets in the first Youth ODI match.
Batting first, New Zealand batting did not capitalized against the pace and spin bowling of Pakistan and were bowled out on 186 runs in 49 overs and Green Shirts required 187 runs to win the first match. Phillips 38 was the top runs scorer from New Zealand while Watson 30 and Clark 29 runs resisted a little against Pakistani bowling. Shaheen Afridi picked up 3 wickets for 21 runs while Pakistani skipper Hasan Khan got 2 wickets.
Pakistan chased down the total of 186 runs in 38.2 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Ammad Alam scored 60 runs while Muhammad Taha contributed 46 and Muhammad Zaid Alam 23 runs. Captain, Hasan Khan 19 and Saad Khan 18 remained unbeaten. Watson took 2 while Soleown, Bhola and Ravindra got 1 wicket each. Pakistan Under-19 team recently defeated Aussies U-19 by 2-0 in 3 match series in Australia.
It is to be mention here that Pakistan senior team also cruises New Zealand XI side by 120 runs in the warm up match prior to the ODI series.
