Pakistan Open Men's Squash Championship enter finals' rounds as all Pakistan hopes fall on Day 2
Half of the 8 quarter finalists from Egypt as the last 3 Pakistani players in the main draw lost their matches in the second round of Pakistan Open Men’s Squash Championship.

Top seed Marwan El Shorbagy (Egy) defeated Mohd Syafiz Kamal (Mas) in a well fought 25min mtach with score of 11-8, 11-7, 11-9. Mazen Hesham (Egy) got better of the not-so-fit Farhan Zaman who is recovering from recent illness. The 28 minutes encounter rendered Mazen triumphant with 11-9, 11-6, 11-6. Farhan came to the second round after defeating Waqar Mehboob by 11-5, 8-11, 11-9, 11-5.
Another exciting 32 minutes long match between Zahed Mohamed (Egy) and Ahsan Ayaz (Pak) ended with 7-11, 11-6, 11-4, 11-2. Ahsan won the first game against No.3 seed Zahed by 11-7 and local crowd was hopeful for some upset from Pakistani youngster and they backed him up but Ahsan, then could not resisted the challenge of world no.24 and lost next three game by 11-6, 11-4 and 11-2. Some tough decision from referee and unforced errors costs him the second game but in the third and fourth game, the veteran player dominated completely and won the match. Ahsan defeated local Muhammad Shoaib Hassan in the first round by 11-9, 11-4, 11-9.
Tayyab Aslam had to face the challenge of No.2 seed Egyptian Mohamed Abouelghar and Abouelghar with his powerful smashes and bamboozling drop shots, outclassed Tayyab by 11-5, 11-5, 13-11. Mohamed Abouelghar won first two games comfortably but in the third game Tayyab planned his game and showed his determination in do and die situation against the world no.24 and gave him a hard fight to level the third game 10 all but the veteran player pulled the game back and won it by 13-11. Tayyab Aslam ousted Syed Ali Bukhari by 3-1 in the first round match.
4 of 6 Egyptian players move forward to the quarterfinals of the tournament. No.1 seed Marwan El Shorbagy easily defeated Malaysian player Mohd Syafiz Kamal in straight games while Malaysian Eain Yow Ng downs Tsz Fung Yip from Hong Kong in straight games. In another match Leo Au from Hong Kong smashed out Egyptian Shehab Essam in 4 set game by 11-9, 5-11, 11-5, 11-1. Max Lee from Hong Kong also through to the quarterfinals after defeating Mazen Gamal from Egypt comfortably by 11-6, 11- 8, 11-3 and Malaysian Nafizwan Adnan outplayed Peter Creed from Wales 11-7, 11-4, 11-6.
Marwan El Shorbagy to face his countryman Mazen Hesham in the quarterfinals while Malaysian Eain Yow Ng will face the challenge of Zahed Mohamed from Egypt, Leo Au from Hong Kong to play against his compatriot Max Lee and Malaysian Nafizwan Adnan to fight against Egyptian Mohamed Abouelghar in the last quarterfinal.
