Army wins National Taekwondo Championship
Pakistan Army with 22 gold finishes first in Senior Khyrogi and Poomsae (male and female) events of the 12th Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship 2017 at Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad.
Pakistan Army with another brilliant performance secures the first position in 12th Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship with 22 gold 8 silver medals. Pakistan Wapda stands second with 7 Gold, 16 silver and 6 bronze medals. Pakistan Railways secured the third position with 3 Gold and 17 bronze medals.
Swat Academy stands victorious in under-17 Khyrogi event of both male & female with 2 gold 2 bronze medals. Azmare Academy Waziristan with 1 gold and 1 silver secured second position. In under-14 Khyrogi male & female events, Azmare Academy got first position with 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals while Blazone Taekwondo Academy got second with 2 gold and 1 bronze medals.
In under-12 Khyrogi male & female events, RKS Academy stood first with 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals while Sindh Green Academy remains second with 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. In under-8 Khyrogi male & female events, Azmare Academy grabbed first position with 5 gold, 01 silver and 2 bronze medals while Shaheed Eid Muhammad Notazai took second position with 1 gold and 1 silver medals.
Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTWF) in collaboration with Korean Embassy Islamabad organized the five day long championship in which 1200 athletes, 120 Coaches & Managers, 50 Technical Officials and 40 National Referees participated in the event. This was the biggest event in the sports history of Pakistan where the teams of more than 70 Clubs, teams from all provinces including Gilgit Baltistan, FATA, Islamabad, Pakistan Army, Pakistan WAPDA, HEC and Pakistan Railways participated. In the closing ceremony of the event, National Taekwondo Team demonstrated and children from Air Foundation School performed before the audience.
Mr Park Bongsu representative of Embassy of republic of Korea, Iftikhar Ahmed Tabassum, Patron PTF, Lt Col Raja Wasim Ahmed, President PTF, Dr Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, DG PSB, Mrs Saba Shamim Jadoon, President Women Wing PTF, Mr Shahid Kamal, Ex Pakistani Ambassador, Ali Muhammad Khan, Member National Assembly, Zia Ullah Bangash, MNA, Col Paracha, GM Jockey were also present on the last day of event.
