PHF announces World-XI schedule in Pakistan
World-XI to play to play two match series against Pakistan hockey team in Lahore and Karachi on 12th and 14 January 2018.
According to Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), World-XI team to land in Karachi on 10th January. International hockey players from Argentina, Holland, Australia, Spain and Belgium will be part of World-XI team. The first match between the two teams is scheduled to be held on Friday 12th January at 7PM while the second match will be held in Lahore on 14th January 2018.
The arrival of World-XI team will project positive image of Pakistan and sports in all over the world. The first match will be played at Abdul Sattar Hockey stadium Karachi under the lights while the other match will held in daylight at National Hockey stadium Lahore.
PHF to hold a special function to nomination world’s former top notch players for the ‘Hall of Fame’ will be held on January 12 at Karachi and a number of foreign and home players will be honored with their induction in the Hall of Fame. The prime objective of induction of players in hall of fame is to develop a new culture to give recognition to those foreign and home players who excelled in the game at highest level, PHF official has said.
The arrival of World-XI team is a milestone for PHF to achieve and it also encourages the foreign teams to come and play in Pakistan. PHF is also planning to organize Pakistan Hockey League (PHL) in April 2018 in a befitting manner. The World-XI tour will also encourage the foreigner players to visit Pakistan and participate in PHL.
