Peshawar Sarkar seals Peshawar Football League Title
DC Peshawar Sarkar after defeating City Eagles 3-0, grabbed the Peshawar Football League 2017 title.
The match was stated with fast pace as in 4th minute of 1st half, Peshawar Sarkar’s Hamza with a fine attempt through the mid-fielder Khalid netted the ball and recorded first goal for his team and takes the lead over the City Eagles. Taking the lead early on, Peshawar Sarkar put more pressure to enhance the lead but City Eagles later in the half took the ball possession in their hands.
City Eagles got the chances to goal twice through Umar Zaib and Hussain but due to poor ball handling they missed the easy chances to convert into goals. At the end of 1st half, Peshawar Sarkar was leading the game by 1-0.
As the second half started, City Eagles took charge and time and again posted attacks on Peshawar Sarkar’s goal in the first 10 minutes but remained unlucky to convert any goal due to lack of understanding between the players and poor ball handling right in front of goal post. on the other hand, Peshawar Sarkar’s defense was rock solid as they did not allow Eagle’s to post any goal but in the 56th minute of 2nd half, Peshawar Sarkar once again make their field move through Hamza and Afaq and they passed the ball to Mohsin in the danger zone who did not make any mistake any hit the ball into the nets and doubled the lead for Peshawar Sarkar.
After 2-0 lead fearless Peshawar Sarkar dominated the remaining part of the game as they soon converted another goal to make the score 3-0 in their favor. Afaq, who also tied the best scoring award with Javed of City Eagles, scored the third goal through field attempt. Afaq and Javed scored five goals each but the best scoring award was given to Javed, who also made the first-hat-trick of the tournament.
Additional Commissioner Peshawar Saira Khan was the chief guest for the concluding ceremony. Director Youth Aziz Ullah Khan, Director Development Niamat Ullah Marwat, Chairman Youth Gleam Gul Haider, Secretary KP Football Association Basit Kamal, Chairman Pakistan Football Referee Federation Qazi Asif, and large number of spectators were also present to watch the thrilling final. Before the match started, the teams and players were introduced to the chief guest Saira Khan.
At the end of the match, Miss Saira Khan gave away winning trophy and cash prize of RS 100,000 to the captain of winning team Peshawar Sarkar while City Eagles received the cash award of RS 50,000. Akbar of DC Peshawar was declared best player of the tournament, Jawad got best emerging player, Syed Imtiaz Ali got best referee award, Faisal Javed got best coach award as all of them were awarded RS 5000 cash prizes.
