Imam steers Lahore blues to title victory in National T20 cup
Imam ul haq leads Lahore blues to win the National T20 cup 2017 title against Lahore whites played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
In the biggest occasion of National T20 cup 2017, young Imam Ul Haq takes his team to home after a 7 wickets victory in all Lahore final. After winning the toss, Captain of Lahore whites Salman Butt decided to bat 1st. Inform and top scorer in the event, Kamran Akmal could not stay on the wicket too long and got out on just 20 runs. Salman butt was the man leads his team to somehow a reasonable total as he contributed 62 runs in 59 balls with the help of 8 boundaries. Lahore whites ended on 127 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Salman butt 62, Kamran Akmal 20 and Aamer Yamin 15 were main runs scores for Lahore whites.
Atif Jabbar took 2 wickets while Aizaz Cheema, Khalid Usman and Salman Ali Agha took 1 wicket each for Lahore blues. Ali Shafiq and Hussain Tallat were not able to pick any wickets. Lahore blues needed 128 runs to win with 6.4 runs per over.
In Reply with the brilliant batting of young Imam ul Haq and Lahore blues captain professor Hafeez, blues achieve the target in 17.3 overs for the loss of only 3 wickets. Imam ul Haq was main contributor in the innings for blues as he scored 59 runs in 49 balls with 7 fours and a six and takes his team to home successfully. Ahmed Shahzad got out on 22 runs while Hafeez added 33 runs and Hussain Talat was picked up by Asif Ali on just 1 run.
Umaid Asif, Bilal Asif and Asif Ali picked up 1 wicket each for Lahore whites. Imam Ul Haq for his not out 59 runs, declared man of the match. After winning the match Lahore blues received cash prize of 200,000 and winning trophy while the runners-up Lahore whites received RS. 100,000.
Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal was chief guest on the occasion and he gave away trophy to the winning team and also distributed prizes among the players. Lahore Whites batsman Kamran Akmal for his outstanding 432 runs in the tournament received RS. 50, 000. Umaid Asif from Lahore Whites was declared best bowler of the tournament as he bagged 14 wickets and received RS. 50,000 and Hammad Azam from FATA for his 5 wickets and 157 runs was named Best outstanding Cricketer/All-rounder and he also received cash prize of RS. 50, 000.
