All-Lahore final today for National T20 Cup

Lahore Blues in another thriller, outplayed FATA by 10 runs to play Lahore whites in the final of ongoing National T20 cup 2017 at Rawalpindi Cricket stadium.

FATA team after winning the toss elected to field first and it was Lahore blues who puts a massive total of 221 for the loss of 1 wicket on the board in allotted 20 overs. Ahmed Shahzad was in fine touch and hammered a ton in the all-important match against FATA. He scored 2 half centuries and a century in his last 5 innings. In the league matches he scores 50 against Peshawar and 79 Vs Islamabad, 104 not out against FATA in the semifinal match. He smashed shots all-around the ground and completed his century with the help of 13 boundaries and 4 massive sixes.

Imam Ul haq was also in good form and contributed 62 runs in 145 runs opening stand with centurion Ahmed Shahzad. He hit four 4’s and three 6’s in 62 runs. Then came Mohammad Hafeez and he blown the FATA bowling with his blazing innings. He only played 19 balls for his 52 runs with 5 boundaries and 4 huge sixes.

Lahore blues set a target of 222 runs for FATA with the asking rate of 11.1 runs per over. The only successful bowler from FATA was Mohammad Irfan (jr) he gave away 35 runs in 4 overs for his only wicket. None of other bowlers were lucky to get any wicket.

In reply, Mukhtar Ahmed gave a flying start to FATA. In his short cameo, he scored 47 runs in just 22 balls with 7 boundaries and 2 sixes but he was not lucky enough to score half century and fall 3 runs short. After Mukhtar, Naved Malik took charge and hit 3 massive sixes and a four in quick secession but got out on 25 in 10 balls. Khushdil Shah score a 56 runs the highest from FATA side with 5 fours and 3 sixes and got out. In the last 2 overs FATA required 28 runs to win the game but second last over was bowled by Husain Talat and he gave only 4 runs and FATA required 24 runs in last over.

Mohammad Irfan (jr) tried his luck but only managed to pull 13 runs with 2 boundaries in last over and overall scored 211 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs, 10 short of the required runs. Ahmed Shahzad for his brilliant century declared man of the match From Lahore Blues, Aizaz Cheema, Salman Ali Agha and Hussain Tallat took 2 wickets each.

Final of National T20 cup is all set to start today at 4:00 PM in Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
