Lahore Whites cruises Faisalabad to reach in the final of National T20 cup
Lahore white defeated Faisalabad in the 1st Semifinal of National T20 cup by 10 runs at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
After winning the toss in the 1st semifinal, Captain of Faisalabad Saeed Ajmal put Salman Butt’s Lahore whites to bat and Lahore team managed to score 142 for the loss of 7 wickets in allotted 20 overs. The man inform Kamran Akmal got out after scoring 30 runs by Imran Khalid. He faced 22 balls and hit 6 boundaries. Lahore whites captain Salman Butt played a blinder of 40 runs in just 23 balls with 8 fours. Umar Akmal remains not out on 35 runs on 35 balls with 2 fours and a six.
Asad Ali remains the most successful bowler for Faisalabad with 2 wickets in 4 overs. Imran khalid, Saeed Ajmal and Yasir Shah got 1 wicket each. Lahore gave the target of 143 runs to Faisalabad with the asking rate of 7.15 runs/over.
In reply, Faisalabad team was bowled out by Lahore whites on 132 runs in 19.4 overs. Start of Faisalabad was not good as expected and they lost their 1st wicket on 9 runs in 1.4 overs. Gohar Ali and Sohaib Maqsood build a partnership but Gohar Ali got out by furious Wahab Riaz on the total of 46 runs and after that, none of Faisalabad’s batsman stayed on the pitch for longer time and fall 10 runs short to the Lahore whit’s total on 142 runs. Lahore white’s bowlers wrapped the Faisalabad’s in 19.4 overs and won the match by 10 runs.
Wahab Riaz and Umaid Asif took 2 wickets each while Ehsan Adil, Bilal Asif and Aamer Yamin got 1 wicket apiece. Wahab Riaz from Lahore Whites was declared Man of the Match. At the end of the match the legendary off-spinner and the magician Saeed Ajmal announces his retirement from all level and formats of cricket. He received guard of honor from both sides. He also said thanks to his fans and PCB for their support.
Lahore Blues to play FATA in the second semifinal today and the winner of the second Semifinal will face Lahore Whites in the final of National T20 cup 2017 tomorrow at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
