Punjab to face Sindh in Under 16 Boys National Hockey Championships final
Punjab Blues will meet Sindh Reds in the final of the Under 16 Boys' Schools National Hockey Championships at the Bakht Ali Dahot hockey stadium, Khairpur.
In the tournament 24 teams from all over Pakistan participated and Punjab blues & Sindh reds reached in the final of the tournament. It is to be mention here that 4 teams of Punjab, 3 teams of Sindh, 3 teams of KPk, 2 teams of Baluchistan, 1 each team of Islamabad, AJ&K, Gilgit Baltistan and FATA also participated in the event. Both the semifinals were played in good sprit and players displayed outstanding stick work. A large number of crowed witnessed both the semifinals.
In the first semifinal, Punjab Blues ousted Punjab Greens team by 1-0. Arshad liaqat from Punjab blues scored the only goal the match. Prof. Dr. Safdar Ali was the chief guest in the first semifinal match. In the second semifinal Sindh Reds thrashed Islamabad team by 2-0. Hammad and Sameer Akhtar were the goal scorers from Sindh Reds. Former Olympian and Director D&D Naveed Alam was the chief guest in the 2nd match.
Final of the Under 16 Boys' Schools National Hockey Championships will be played on Monday 27th November 2017 and Punjab blues and Sindh reds will fight for the top honor. Before the final match 3rd position match was also played between Islamabad and Punjab Greens same day. Dr. Nafisa Shah, Member of National Assembly will be the chief guest for the final.
