Nauman, Waqar grabs titles of 32 ITF Seniors Ranking tennis Championship
Nauman Aleem Durrani ousted Malik Inam ullah Khan to win the Men’s singles title of under 55 category in 32 Maple Leaf Cement of 32 ITF Seniors World Ranking tennis Championship Grade 4 at Bagh e Jinnah tennis court Lahore.
Nauman durrani displayed excellent show and won the 1st set by 6-2 by breaking 5th and 7th games of first set. He again kept his cool and continue to pressurize his opponent and won the 2nd set also by 6-4 b breaking 9th game in the second set.
In Men’s singles 60 category, Waqar Nisar thrashed Gul Hameed in straight sets. The Former NCCA (USA) player Waqar was in fine touch and won the final without any resistance at a score of 6-3, 6-3.
In Men’s double event of 40 category, Talha Waheed pairing with Muhammad Shakeel claimed the Men’s title by 6-3, 2-6, 10-1. Both the teams displayed quality tennis. Arif and Jehanzeb won the first set at 6-3 by breaking 7th games of first set. Talha and Shakeel came from behind and won the second set at 6-2. The final set was played as super tie break set.
Tlaha and Waheed played exceptionally well and with the help of good service and volley won the super set at the score of 10-1 and also won the doubles title of 40 event. The match was lasted for 1 hour 30 minutes.
The duo of Rasheed Malik and Fayyaz Khan won the Men’s double title of 45 category. The pair defeated Malik Ina mullah Khan and Irfan ullah in the last round robin match I straight sets by 6-1, 6-1 to win the title. Rashid Malik former Pakistan No 1 and Davis cup Captain and Fayyaz Khan played service and volley game and could not allow their opponents’ to settle down throughout the match with their power full shots and won the final easily.
In another match of Men doubles 50 category, Rasheed Malik and Muhammad Arif qualifies for the final after defeating IJaz chaudhary and Naresh Khatri (IND) in a one sided contest by 6-1, 6-1. Rashid and Arif will face Nauman Allem Durrani and Malak Ina mullah Khan in the final round of 50doubles event tomorrow at 2.30 pm.
