PRSB, Lahore victorious in Railway interdivisional Cricket Championship matches
PRSB defeated Karachi division by 10 wickets while Lahore division emerged as victorious against Multan division by an innings and 103 runs in Railway interdivisional Cricket championship at Lahore.
In the 1st match played at Railway Garhi Shahu cricket ground, PRSB thrashed Karachi division team by 10 wickets. Playing 1st, Karachi division team only managed to score 95 runs in their 1st innings and bowled out in 29.3 overs. Rao Waqar Ahmed 25, Hanif Azad 19 and Asad 15 were the main scorers for Karachi team. From PRSB, Aftab Azwar took 5 wickets for 32 runs. Shahid Nawaz and Shahid Ali took 2 wickets each.
In reply, PRSB declared the 1st innings after scoring 315 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 60.3 overs and got the overall lead by 220 runs. Ali Zaryab played superbly for his 108 runs with the help of 14 boundaries. Zain ul Hasnain scored 82 while Muhammad Waqas contributed 59 runs. Ghulam Hussain form Karachi division got 4 wickets for 60 runs while Jameel ur Rehman took 2 and Muhammad Umair and Muhammad Junaid got 1 wicket each.
In 2nd innings Karachi team played competitively well but could not save the match and bowled out on 220 runs in 54.5 overs. Tanveer ul Haq scored 88 runs while Tahir Iqbal 35 not out, Rao Waqar 21 and Inam ullah Khan 18 were main scorers from Karachi division team. Shahid Nawaz took 3 wickets while Shahid Ali, Ali Zaryab and Aftab Azwar got 2 wickets each. Muhammad Rameez took 1 wicket. PRSB scored 1 run in their 2nd innings and won the match by 10 wickets.
In the 2nd match played at Mugalpura Institute ground between Lahore division and Multan division, Lahore defeated Multan by an innings and 103 runs. Playing 1st Lahore team declared 1st innings on the score of 296 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 74 overs. Muhammad Zahid 78, Waleed Anjum 69 and Fahad Munir 54 scored half centuries for Lahore. Aziz Abdullah got 5 wickets for Multan while Farhan Pervaiz got 2 and Muhammad Nasir took 1 wicket.
In reply, Multan was bowled out in just 20.2 overs on just 61 runs and faced follow on. Lahore got the 1st innings lead of 235 runs. Akbar Baig ousted 6 Multan batsman while Muhammad Asad got 3 and Asad Rafiq got 1 wicket. In the 2nd innings Multan team was again bowled out on 132 runs in 40.2 overs and lost the match by 1 innings and 103 runs. Farhan Pervaiz scored 41 runs while Kashif Bhatti added 35 and Mehran Sanwal remained not out on 25 runs. Asad Shafiq took 4 wickets for Lahore while Muhammad Asad took 3. Muhammad Saleem and Zamir Munir got 1 wicket each.
