Pakistan claims 3 medals in Asian Indoor Rowing Championship
Pakistan Rowing team brought laurel for the country as they secured 3 medals in Asian Indoor Rowing Championships 2017, which was held in Johar Baharu, Malaysia.
Pakistani team won 3 medals, 1 each of gold, silver and bronze at the international competition. Pakistan claims three medals after 20 years in the Asian indoor rowing Championship at Malaysia.
Team Pakistan won the gold in mixed fours after the wait of 14 years. Athletes participated in the event were Maqbool Ali, Rashid Hussain, Rabia Amjad and Naila Bano.
In lightweight men pair category, Pakistan team secured silver medal. Waliullah Khan and Muzammil Shehzad represented Pakistan in lightweight category.
Pakistan got bronze medal in the lightweight mixed category where Sohaib Ahmed, Muzammil Shehzad, Naila Bano and Nighat Kausar represented the country.
This have been the best performance of the Pakistan team at an Asian-level competition since the establishment of Pakistan Rowing Federation in Pakistan.
