Remington Polo thrashes Edezell to reach Polo in Pink Final
Remington Polo defeated Edezell by 8-4 and through to main final of Polo in Pink cup at Lahore Polo Club. Agha Musa Ali Khan and Bilal Haye scored 4 goals each for Remington Polo.
Lahore polo club (LPC) ground witnessed interesting situation on Friday, as Remington Polo qualified for main final, wining it from Edezell by 8-4. Guard Group defeated Artema Medical/Black Horse Paints 6-5½ the same day to qualify for the subsidiary final.
Remington Polo’s heroes of the day Agha Musa Ali Khan and Bilal Haye won the said title by scoring 4 goals each. From amongst the opponents, a brace was scored by Abdul Rehman Monno and one goal each as scored by Ahmed Zubair Butt and Atif Yar Tiwana.
Guard group owes the victory by 6 thanks to Taimur Mawaz against 5½ by the losing Artema Medical/Black Horse Paints. From the winner’s side, Taimur scored a glamorous 4 while M Samir Malik scored a brace. From the other side, Hamza Mawaz also scored 4 goals but the 1 and a half goal advantage of the team still couldn’t help the team win.
The penalty shootouts helped decide for 3 of the cancelled matches of the day. After gaining an upper, winning hand against two of their challengers, Terra Energy was declared successful. For the selection of team for the next round, Newage edged past Rijas on penalty shootouts in the second match.
The winners are expected to face each other for the final round today (Saturday) at 3:00pm. The losers are expected to challenge each other to win a place in the subsidiary final at 1:30 pm.
