The Pakistan baseball team, which had reached the city of Tuscan Arizona USA to compete in the World Baseball Classic Qualifier, had to return to Pakistan after the tournament was postponed.
WBSC World baseball classic qualifier 2020
The Qualifying Round of the 2021 World Baseball Classic will be held from March 12 to 25, 2020. The WBSC-sanctioned World Baseball Classic will expand from 16 to 20 national teams.
Teams which participated at the 2017 World Baseball Classic automatically qualified for the 2021 tournament.
The qualifying round will consist of two tournaments to be participated by six teams each. The first tournament will be held from March 12 to 17, 2020 and the second from March 20 to 25, 2020. Both qualifiers will be hosted in Tucson, Arizona in the United States.
The winners and runners-up of each of the two tournaments will qualify for the 2021 World Baseball Classic.
Two qualifiers (modified double-elimination format) will be staged at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Arizona, from 12-25 March:.
Pakistan has been grouped in Pool 1.
Pool 1 (12-17 March): Brazil, France, Germany, Nicaragua, Pakistan and South Africa
Pool 2 (20-25 March): Czech Republic, Great Britain, New Zealand, Panama, Philippines and Spain
All 16 teams from the 2017 World Baseball Classic return for the 2021 edition, including Australia, Canada, China, Chinese Taipei, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Mexico, Puerto Rico, USA and Venezuela.
In total, 28 of WBSC's National Baseball Federations will take part in the World Baseball Classic, either through the main event or its qualifiers.
USA is the current defending World champion.

Pakistan Baseball team will face Brazil in the opening game of World Baseball Classic qualifiers 2020. Depending upon a win or a loss, their schedule will take shape.
Pakistan has been placed in Pool 1 which also includes Brazil, France, Germany, Nicaragua and South Africa.
